OffGrid AI ToolKit User Guide

Welcome to the OffGrid AI ToolKit. This is a full-scale AI system running entirely from your USB drive. No internet. No accounts. No cloud. Complete privacy. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to get the most out of your ToolKit.

Getting Started

Step 1: Plug In Your USB Drive

Insert your OffGrid AI ToolKit 64GB USB 3.2 drive into any USB port on your Windows computer. Open the drive in File Explorer and you will see two items: the Saved Knowledge Base folder and the Launch OffGrid AI ToolKit application.

Double-click Launch OffGrid AI ToolKit to start.

Step 2: Accept Terms & Enter Your PIN

The first screen is the Welcome and Verification page. You will see a brief overview of how the ToolKit works, including three key points about performance, AI accuracy, and local processing.

Enter the 4-digit Access PIN located on the card included in your package. Check the box to accept the terms and conditions, then click START USING OFFGRID AI.

This verification only happens on first launch. After that, the ToolKit opens directly to the Dashboard.

Step 3: Windows Permissions (One-Time Only)

As the system loads, Windows will ask you to approve three components. You will see a User Account Control popup for each one. Click Yes for all three.

You only need to approve these once per computer. If you move the USB drive to a different computer, you may be asked again on that machine.

Important: Since this is a completely self-contained system, you can switch between computers at any time. All your AI models, saved knowledge, and settings travel with the drive.

Step 4: Models Loading

After approving permissions, the AI models will load automatically. This typically takes 3 to 5 seconds. Once loaded, you will see the Dashboard with a green Connected indicator in the top right corner, confirming the AI is ready.

The Dashboard

The Dashboard is your command center for everything. Here is what you are looking at:

Top Bar

The top bar gives you three pieces of information at a glance:

If your drive shows an Unverified Drive indicator, it may be a pirated copy. Contact support@offgridaitoolkit.com and we will make sure you get a verified one.

Left Sidebar

The left sidebar is home to your Knowledge Base, Online Access buttons, and Mobile Access QR code. We will cover each of these in detail in their own sections below.

Main Area

The center of the screen is where you interact with OffGrid AI. You will see:

• The compass rose logo and welcome message
• Three badges highlighting the core capabilities: Knowledge Base, Vision, and Private
• The tagline: "Your knowledge, always accessible. Internet or not."
• The chat input box where you type your questions
• The AI mode toggle and Send button
• Two large cards at the bottom: Use Cases and Ready-Made Prompts

Chatting with OffGrid AI

The Chat Input Box

This is where you talk to OffGrid AI. Type any question, describe a situation, or paste a prompt and click Send (or press Enter).

The chat input area has several elements:

Two AI Modes

OffGrid AI gives you two modes to choose from. Click the toggle button to switch between them.

Optimized is selected by default and handles all prompts well. It is fast and runs on most computers. Advanced adds deeper reasoning for complex scenarios where you want more thorough, detailed responses. Click the toggle once to switch to Advanced, click again to switch back.

Response times vary by hardware and mode. Optimized responses are typically fast, while Advanced responses may take longer depending on your system. This is a full-scale AI running entirely on your device with no internet required, so response times depend on your computer's processing power.

Image Analysis

Click the image icon (top right of the input box) to upload any photo from your computer. OffGrid AI will analyze the image and help you identify what is in it. This works with both Optimized and Advanced modes.

Some examples of what you can do with image analysis:

• Identify plants, insects, animals, or mushrooms from a photo
• Assess a wound or injury for first-aid guidance
• Read and translate text in an image
• Identify vehicle parts, tools, or equipment
• Analyze terrain, weather conditions, or trail markers

Quick Actions

After OffGrid AI responds to your question, a set of quick action buttons will appear:

Knowledge Base

The Knowledge Base is your personal offline survival library. It lives on the USB drive in the Saved Knowledge Base folder, so everything you save travels with you.

What You See

The Knowledge Base panel on the left sidebar shows:

• Entry count (badge in the top right corner) showing total saved entries
• Storage indicator showing how much space is used and available on the drive
• Action buttons: Save to KB, New Chat, and Open Folder
• Category folders with entry counts for each

Saving to the Knowledge Base

Whenever OffGrid AI gives you a useful answer, click Save to KB from the quick action buttons. The conversation will be saved as a readable file in the appropriate category folder. You can also create new folders using the + New Folder option at the bottom of the sidebar.

Opening the Folder

Click Open Folder to open the Knowledge Base directory in Windows File Explorer. From there you can browse, organize, copy, or back up your saved entries. Every entry is saved as a standard file that you can open on any computer.

The Best Strategy

Use OffGrid AI to research and learn while you have time, then save the best answers to your Knowledge Base. That way, when you actually need the information in the field, it is already there and organized. Learn now so you are ready and do not have to get ready.

Ready-Made Prompts & Use Cases

At the bottom of the Dashboard welcome screen, you will see two large cards.

Ready-Made Prompts

This is the best place to start. The Ready-Made Prompts library contains over 2,000 field-tested prompts organized across 9 categories and 80+ subcategories. Every prompt has been tested on OffGrid AI to ensure quality answers.

How to use them:

1. Click the Ready-Made Prompts card (or select it from the + menu)
2. Use the Quick Navigation links at the top to jump to any category
3. Click the triangle next to a subcategory to expand it
4. Click any prompt to instantly copy it to your message box
5. Click Send to get your answer

The 9 categories cover a wide range of real-world scenarios:

Each subcategory contains Starter Prompts (the best ones to try first), Core Prompts (the main library), Advanced Prompts (deeper reasoning scenarios), and Image-Based Prompts (ideas for using photo analysis).

Use Cases

The Use Cases card shows real-life scenarios demonstrating what OffGrid AI can do. These are practical examples with single-click prompts that show the AI in action. Great for getting a feel for what is possible.

Online & Mobile Access

Your OffGrid AI ToolKit purchase includes access to the online ecosystem. Look at the bottom of the left sidebar for the Online section.

"Online but still private" means that even the online versions are built with privacy in mind. No accounts are required for the free tier, and no conversations are stored.

OffGrid AI Online

Click OffGrid AI Online to open the free online version in your browser. This gives you access to the same AI experience through a web interface. As a verified ToolKit owner, this is free for life with your purchase.

Command Center

Click Command Center to access the premium online platform. The Command Center features an AI Council of elite models for building comprehensive offline knowledge bases, generating images, and more advanced capabilities.

Your free trial key was included in the welcome email that came with your purchase. Enter it on the Command Center login page to start your trial.

Mobile Access

At the very bottom of the sidebar, you will find a QR code. Scan it with your phone to open the mobile-optimized web app at offgridtoolkit.ai/mobile. This version is designed for low WiFi or cellular signals, giving you access to OffGrid AI from your phone when you are away from your computer.

System Requirements

The OffGrid AI ToolKit runs entirely from the USB drive with no installation required. Here is what your computer needs:

Optimized mode is designed to run well on most computers. If your computer has at least 8GB of RAM and a decent processor, you are good to go.

Advanced mode delivers deeper reasoning but requires more resources. For the best experience, use a computer with 32GB+ RAM and a modern processor with a dedicated GPU.

Switching computers: Since everything runs from the USB drive, you can plug it into any Windows computer and pick up right where you left off. All models, settings, and saved knowledge travel with the drive.
